Former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni has been handed a trial by League One side Coventry City.
Aiyegbeni, 34, last played for Turkish Super League Kayserispor club in 2016 and was on trial at non-league Boreham Wood in last season’s pre-season.
According to several media outfits, Aiyegbeni is set to undergo a fitness assessment with a view to being offered a short-term deal until the end of the season.
During his time in the Premier League, Aiyegbeni played for Everton, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers.
And in his last spell in England Aiyegbeni featured for Reading and scored just one goal in 11 outings in 2015.
Aside from playing in England, Aiyegbeni also played for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League.
