Manuel Neuer has been named The World’s Best Goalkeeper for a second year in a row by the International Football Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Ballon d’Or nominee Neuer conceded a mere 40 goals in 62 games in 2014 and fought off the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas to secure the gong once again.

IFFHS experts and editorial staff from 60 countries voted for the German World Cup winner who also collected the Golden Glove following his terrific performances at the Brazil-based tournament.

Known for his eccentric goalkeeping and ‘sweeper keeper’ abilities, 28-year-old Neuer is an underdog for the aforementioned FIFA Ballon d’Or and also find himself on the shortlist for the goalkeeper’s position at the FIFPro World XI.
