FA Cup – Liverpool Stage Late Comeback To See Off 10-Man Bolton

Philippe Coutinho struck a stoppage-time winner as Liverpool produced a late, late show to come from behind and see off 10-man Bolton by a 2-1 scoreline in a barnstorming FA Cup fourth round replay at the Macron Stadium.

The Brazilian marked the week he committed his long-term future to the club in style as he curled in a sensational strike after the Trotters had threatened an upset.

Wanderers took the lead on the hour when Eidur Gudjohnsen drilled a penalty down the middle after Zach Clough had tumbled under a slight challenge from Martin Skrtel.

Liverpool huffed and puffed and struck the woodwork on three occasions while their cause was further helped by a red card for Bolton’s Neil Danns following a second bookable offence.

It looked like being one of those days for Brendan Rodgers’ side, but they eventually found their way through when Raheem Sterling volleyed home four minutes from the end, leaving Coutinho to seal a fifth round tie at Crystal Palace at the death.
