Nigeria’s victorious Flying Eagles have been pitched against South American football giants, Brazil, ahead of the FIFA U20 Championship, New Zealand 2015. The four African representatives for the tournament learnt their fate for the fiesta on Monday, following the draw conducted in Dakar, Senegal.
With the exception of African champions, Nigeria, the three other representatives – Senegal, Ghana and Mali – had to wait for the draw to know their groups. Ghana’s Black Satellites were drawn in Group B alongside Argentina, Panama and Austria; ‘Les Lionceaux’ of Senegal in Group C with Qatar, Colombia and Portugal; whilst the Eaglets of Mali will battle it with Mexico, Uruguay and Serbia in Group D.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will contend with Brazil, Korea DPR and Hungary in Group E.
The draw was conducted by Rhianon Martin, FIFA Senior Competitions Manager, and assisted by Felipe Restrepo of the FIFA Competitions Division.
The final tournament will be held from May 30 to June 20, 2015 in New Zealand.
