Nigeria Premier League side, Go Round have condemned MFC FC to yet another league 1-0 defeat in a rescheduled matchday 15 at the 1000 capacity Krisdera Hotel Stadium in Rivers State on Wednesday evening.
The Rivers based club began the match with all-purpose and intent to return to winning ways but had to suffer hard to make that happen.
Both sides had no shot on target during the first half with glaring chances thrown away amidst tough tackles.
MFM’s Akinyemi Nojeem had the best chance of the first half handed to him on a platter of gold after Go Round goal minder, Nwabali mistakenly passed the ball to him but failed to chip him from distance.
The Olukoya Boys had more chances to score but once again threw away chances as and were made to pay for their prolificacy in front of goal in the 50th minute when Chris Kpekpe headed home a cross from Ebuka Akobundu.
Following the goal, the home side unrelently bombarded the away side who were forced to defend in numbers but again, had chance to level when MFM’s two substitutes Onuwa and Olatunbosun combined brilliantly inside the box but the latter’s effort went wide.
Meanwhile, with the host looking to extend their lead, Vincent George of Go Round squared for an unmarked Adelani whose effort was somehow blocked by Abisoye Olawale of MFM.
With this victory, Go Round have moved up the league table and are placed 14th with 23 points while MFM FC despite the loss remain 11th with 24 points.
