English Premiership defending champions, Leicester City faced newly promoted Hull City who put their abysmal pre-season to one side to stun Premier League champions Leicester City on the opening day.
Managerless Tigers have been tipped as a strong candidate to be relegated this season but goals from Diomande and Robert Snodgress ensured they made the perfect start to the campaign. Despite Leicester having most of the possession in the first half, Hull City drew first blood in spectacular fashion as Diamonde converted from a corner kick.
After the restart, Leicester were handed an easy way in after Huddlestone tripped Gray on the edge of the box resulting in a penalty. Mahrez stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it level.
Leicester failed to take charge of the match and looked shaky in defence. Eventually, a terrible delivery from goalkeeper Schmeichel led to a cross which fell to Snodgrass. Snodgrass wasted no time in putting Hull City up.
