Six-time Bundesliga winner Franck Ribery has hinted that he may be plying his trade in the increasingly star-studded Chinese Super League.
While Ribery isn’t pushing for a move this window, the 33-year-old’s contract with Bayern Munich is due to expire in 18 months, and he has refused to rule out a move to either China, or the Middle East.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, the French attacker was candid in his future motivations, revealing: “China, Qatar and Dubai are always options. If they pay well, why not?”
“Who knows what can happen in life? I have always played at top level in recent years. I am so happy what I have done here.”
Ribery recently put pen to paper on a one year contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, where he has won – in addition to league titles – five German Cups and the 2013 Champions League.
The former Marseille player is into his tenth year in Bavaria and expressed his happiness at the contract extension, hinting that he could even stay beyond 2018.
“Now I’ve extended a year here at Bavaria. I am also very happy about that. I’m here for a long time, and maybe longer.
