Superstar, Lionel Messi has reportedly named the three players he wants Barcelona to sign as they look to strengthen their grip on La Liga.
The Catalan side are streaking clear in the Spanish Championship, currently eight points ahead of rivals Real Madrid.
But with Luis Suarez struggling for form and record signing Ousmane Dembele still injured, Barca could be looking to strengthen in January.
According to Spanish publication Diario Gol, number one on Messi’s hit-list is Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, who was being pursued by Arsenal in the summer.
The 21-year-old Frenchman scored 14 goals in 55 games last season and is the latest highly-rated attacker to roll off the Monaco talent production line.
Up next on his agenda is Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir. The 24-year-old has recovered from a serious knee injury, and is in outstanding form, having netted 12 goals in 15 games this term.
The final star on Messi’s shopping list is Leicester’s Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez.
Mahrez seemed destined to leave the 2015/16 Premier League champions in the summer, only for a proposed transfer to Arsenal to ultimately fall through.
Barca spent much of the most recent transfer window attempting to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool without success.
It’s highly likely that Ernesto Valverde would still want his side to line up with the Brazilian in their ranks.
But the Reds’ owners Fenway Sports Group are known to drive a particularly hard bargain, so Barcelona may have to switch their focus to one of Messi’s preferred targets.
