English Premier League referee, Mike Dean, who is known for his no-nonsense attitude has been demoted to the Championship.

Reports have it that the official lost his place after he was widely criticized for his officiating during the festive period.

Dean was scrutinized by fans and even past referees for his decision to send off Sofiane Feghouli during West Ham’s clash with Manchester United and failure to dismiss Everton’s Ross Barkley during the Merseyside Derby last month.

He will miss Premier League officiating this weekend and will now handle the second tier game between Leeds United and Barnsley in Yorkshire derby.

Leeds are currently third in the Championship table, while Barnsley lie in10th place.
