The 2015 league champions, Enyimba have extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches following a rescheduled MatchDay 17 game of the Nigerian Professional Football League played against Ifeanyi Ubah FC.
The match played at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Wednesday evening which ended 1-1 witnessed an attacking game from both sides.
In the 19th minute, the host had the first attempt of the game when Patrick Ikeokwu attempted to score but safely dealt with by Super Eagles goalie, Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
The Aba Warriors who had prior to this game had only conceded one goal at home fell behind to a 42nd minute goal after an error from the defence line allowed the mercurial Pascal Seka a chance to beat Ikechukwu Ezenwa with a low shot.
The visitors who had not scored a goal away from home against their host in an NPFL game since 2015 were buoyed by breaking that record and continued to attack from all directions.
This necessitated a quick reaction from Enyimba players as Stephen Chukwude who replaced Abdulrahman Bashir at the restart of the second half threatened to slice open the defence line of Anambra Warriors with a teasing cross but for the quick decision of Bamba Drissa who nicked the ball off the head of a lurking Mustapha.
Enyimba continued to torment their guests with a barrage of attacking moves which drew out the best from Bamba until he made a mistake.
Not wanting to lose the game, in the 61st minute, Enyimba restored parity through Ibrahim Mustapha following a goalkeeping error from Bamba.
Following the equalising goal, there were substitutions to force a winner and challenges which drew yellow cards from referee Ferdinand Udoh.
With this result, Enyimba are 8th on the log with 27 points while Ifeanyi Ubah are 11th with 26 points despite playing two more games.
