Real Madrid Look to Continue Record Winning Streak in La Liga

Fresh from setting a Spanish record with their 19th straight win, Real Madrid can take a step toward the overall record by beating Almeria on Friday.

Madrid beat Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday in the Champions League, bettering the 18-game winning streak set by Barcelona in 2005-06. The world record of 24 wins in all competitions was set by Brazilian club Curitiba in 2011.

“We are in a great moment: the players, the coaches and the club, which has always supported us,” Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said. “We need to keep up this momentum.”

Real Madrid lead the Spanish league, two points ahead of Barcelona. The Catalan team visit Getafe on Saturday.
