Highest paid football, Carlos Tevez and former Super Eagles forward, Obafemi Martins fired blanks as Chinese Super League outfit, Shanghai Shenhua crashed out of the Asian Champions League following a 2-0 home defeat against Australia representatives, Brisbane Roar on Wednesday.
Martins, who led Shenhua attack alongside Tevez in the Asia Champions League qualifying round fixture played at the Hongkou Stadium, Shanghai was on from start to finish in the encounter.
Gus Poyet’s led side fell behind two minutes into the game when Brandon Borello hit the back of the net following a pass by Tommy Oar.
Borello turned provider five minutes before the break when he set up Oar for the second goal.
Shenhua missed the chance to progress into the group stage of the competition with the defeat.
