Tiger Woods could make his comeback at the US Masters next Thursday after the American golfer’s private jet touched down at Augusta Regional Airport on Tuesday.

Woods has not played since withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open in February, and dropped out of the world’s top 100 for the first time in 18 years earlier this week.

The Augusta Chronicle claims that Woods’s Gulfstream G5 aircraft was spotted in Georgia airfield – an indication that Woods was at Augusta National for a practice round.

Woods has previously said that he would only play competitive golf when he was “tournament ready”, according to The Guardian.

Woods was the youngest winner of a Major when he won the Masters at the age of 21 in 1997. Now 39, he has won the Masters four times in his 14 Major-haul, the last of which came 10 years ago in 2005 when he famously holed a remarkable chip shot at the 16th hole.
