Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has hinted at the possibility of manager, Zinedine Zidane taking a break from football this summer even if he wins the Champions League.
He was asked about Zidane’s future after the 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night and said: ‘Perhaps he will win it again and then fancy going off for a break. That’s a possibility.
‘Everyone takes for granted that if he wins it he will stay but he might want to take a rest.’
If Zidane does stay beyond the end of this season it could impact on Gareth Bale’s plans next summer.
There are problems between the the coach and the player, demonstrated by Zidane leaving Bale out of the biggest game of the season.
Meanwhile, the man in the eye of the storm himself, isn’t at all concerned about what will happen, as all he wants right now is to feel as if the club and the dressing room have his back – which is currently the case, as Marcelo’s Wednesday night celebration demonstrated.
A new contract was signed last summer, with the coach renewing until 2021, and there was no major drama over it.He even had it there waiting for him for several months, before looking at it and signing it at the end of the 2016/17 season.
“He was the only footballer who never looked at the money in a contract,” Florentino Perez has recalled on several occasions.
